Burning a Yule Log on the Winter Solstice or on Christmas Eve is an ancient tradition in parts of Europe, and is supposed to bring luck to your household. A traditional Yule Log is decorated and burned in a fireplace, but you can still have a Yule Log, and burn it, too, even if you don't have a fireplace.
